MMD Programs

MikuMikuDance

This is the main 3D Engine created by Yu Higuchi. We recommend always downloading the latest version of MMD for the best results. On this page you will also find all the information you need to run MMD, such as C++ packages and DirectX.

PMMLookupper

This external program by LNSEAB helps you find the names and locations of a variety of MMD assets, such as models, effects, images and accessories.

MME Programs

MMEffect

This is a plugin created by 舞力介入P/ BuryokuKainyuu-P that allows you to load effects into MMD. Without this plugin, you will not be able to load any effects. We recommend downloading the latest version of MME for the best results. On this page you will also find all the information you need to run MMD, such as C++ packages and DirectX.

Credit Helper

This program by ぺんぎん/ Pengin helps you list all effects you use in a .pmm project.

MikuMikuShading

This program by 針金P/ Wire-P allows you to edit MME shaders without editing the code.

Visual Studio Code

This free software by Microsoft is useful for anyone who needs to edit MMD effects through the code. You can edit MME code in any code reader (even notepad!) however I recommend this software because it color-codes useful areas you can edit.

PMD/PMXe

While these programs are modelling software, some effect controllers are built in PMDe/PMXe, created by 極北P / Kyokuhoku- P. Some controllers may only load and save in PMDe, so I recommend downloading both of them. The button takes you to the English versions of the programs, with PMDe translated by ibozo and PMXe translated by inochi-PM.

Photoshop

This subscription based software created by Adobe allows you to edit and create texture effects.

This free software created by GIMP Team allows you to edit and create texture effects.

This free and pro software by Rendering Systems allows you to generate color textures, normalmaps and displacement maps from textures.

Effect Generators

ikClut Modifier

This program by momo allows you to generate new ikClut effects using pre made textures.

This program by Mfakane allows you to generate brand new toon effects based on textures.

MikuMikuTelop

This program by Sovoro allows you to create subtitles to place as an effect in MMD.

This program by Beamman generates a motion blur, in which the strength of the blur can be controlled by a slider

VMDSizing

This program by miu resizes motion data to fit any model, regardless of its size of skeleton.

VMDSpectrum

This program by 極北P/ Kyokuhoku transforms .wav data in to .vmd data, which can be loaded onto any VMD Spectrum unit.
