Tutorial

1. Load msEdgeChroma.x into the accessory manipulation box.

2. Manipulate the parameters in the accessory manipulation box to change the appearance of the effect

Accessory Parameter Values:

X, Y, Z- Adjusts the color values on the bright side.

Rx, Ry, Rz- Adjusts the color values on the dark side.

X, Rx- Adjusts the hue from within a range of -360 to +360.

Y, Ry- Adjusts the saturation from within a range of -100 to +100, with negative values causing desaturation.

Z, Rz- Adjusts the brightness value from within a range of -100 to +100.

Si- Adjusts the strength of the effect. The greater this value, the greater the strength of the adjustments specified by {{X, Y, Z, Rx, Ry, Rz}} will be. This value does not affect the range of the effect.

Tr- Adjusts the black/white/gray hues when the saturation is increased with {{Y, Ry}}.

Important notes : you do not use the controller for this effect in the same way as other effects. Instead, you move the bones of the controller to change how the effect looks. It is more effective to edit the values in the accessory manipulation panel, however.

Editing the Code Parameters

-Line 13: #define SAMP_NUM 12: This number dictates the range of the effect. Mashimashi recommends setting it to a value between 3 and 20.

-Line 17: #define MASK_SMOOTHSTEPED 0: This value determines whether or not the effect applies a sharpen effect. Set the number to 1 to sharpen the area of effect. Set it to 0 to disable the sharpening effect.

-Line 22: #define EDGE_ON 0: This value determines whether or not visual information for adjustments are displayed when the effect is loaded into MMD. Set the number to 1 to display the visual information. Set it to 0 to not display it.

Tips

-Mashimashi has included some example renders for accessory value editing in the 'Samples' folder.

-Distributing a modified version of this effect is allowed, but the Sample folder cannot be included.
